Patient Access Specialist

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support accurate, compassionate patient registration and financial clearance. In this full-time role, you will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, obtain authorizations, estimate and collect patient responsibility, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer requirements. You'll collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams to resolve coverage issues, improve upfront collections, and enhance the patient financial experience in a mission-driven, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately, capturing complete demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations prior to service.
• Provide patient cost estimates, discuss financial responsibilities, and collect payments.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer rules, and internal revenue cycle policies.
• Schedule and pre-register patients for services, coordinating with clinical teams.
• Resolve coverage, authorization, and billing-related access issues promptly.
• Document all interactions and updates in the EHR and registration systems.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle and finance teams to improve front-end collections.
• Support a positive, patient-centered experience at check-in and check-out.
• Participate in training and process improvement initiatives to enhance access workflows.
