The Dialysis Outpatient Registered Nurse provides direct, individualized nursing care to patients receiving outpatient dialysis treatment in an on-site clinic located in Rehoboth Beach, DE. This full-time role includes assessing patients' conditions, developing and implementing care plans, and monitoring vital signs and dialysis responses throughout treatment sessions. The nurse will initiate, manage, and terminate dialysis treatments according to protocols, administer prescribed medications, and perform patient education on treatment, medications, and self-care.
Day-to-day responsibilities also include collaborating with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams, documenting care accurately in the medical record, adhering to infection control and safety standards, and supporting quality improvement initiatives within the clinic. The nurse will help coordinate scheduling, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care to promote optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Delaware and eligibility to practice without restrictions.
- Previous experience in dialysis, nephrology, or acute/chronic care nursing, or strong interest in specializing in renal nursing.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, clinical decision-making, and medication administration in an outpatient setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients and families and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to follow dialysis protocols, maintain infection control standards, and operate dialysis equipment safely and accurately.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple patients, documentation requirements, and treatment schedules.
- Commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive, and non-discriminatory patient care, with a focus on safety and quality improvement.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. - Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
