Position: Hallmark Field Merchandiser (part-time) Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

Job Overview

As a Field Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organizational and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you may work with products from other companies in the same stores.

Salary and Schedule Details

Starting hourly pay: $15.50 – $17.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Paid training through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom sessions.
Part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, and other coverage.
Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
Part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
Average weekly hours: 11–15 hours per week.
Availability required the week before and after major holidays, including weekends.
Availability to support seasonal changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The retail merchandiser position consists of four major components:

Day‑to‑day engagement: Using a Hallmark‑provided mobile device, you will restock, organize, and monitor inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department. Use of technology is critical for day‑to‑day work, communication with supervisors, reporting time, providing feedback, and completing required merchandising surveys. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is essential. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores.

Holiday support: Hallmark’s operations revolve around seasonal demand. Leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you can expect additional days and extended hours during the week. On occasions like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, you may be required to work on the actual holiday, including weekends.

Department resets: At times you may be part of a team responsible for installing and relocating Hallmark fixtures, moving card departments and products, and resetting card sections. You will typically be notified two weeks in advance for remodel assignments, which can include evenings or weekends.

Team collaboration: As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you will be part of a network of merchandisers who often support one another in their territories.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding role that requires high levels of energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds daily and up to 50 pounds occasionally. You must also kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the day, and may be required to climb stairs and step ladders.

Qualifications

At least 18 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Capacity to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to operate a digital hand‑held device to read documents and interpret information.
Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
