Inside Sales, Sales Representative, Appointment Setter/ Scheduler, Sales Development Rep/SDR
Ashton Pools By Design is a high-end, locally owned pool and outdoor living company serving coastal Delaware. For more than 20 years, we have helped homeowners create custom outdoor spaces including pools, patios, outdoor kitchens, fire features, landscaping, and more.
We are looking for a sales-minded, polished, and highly organized person to join our Design Studio and own the front end of our client experience.
This person is the primary point of contact for prospective clients who reach us by phone, email, website inquiry, or walk-in. This is not simply about answering phones or taking messages. You will become knowledgeable enough to have helpful conversations, understand what a prospective client is looking for, gather the right information, and confidently guide them to the appropriate next step.
WhatYou’ll Do
Own Every Incoming Inquiry
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients.
- Answer incoming calls with a warm, confident, and professional phone presence.
- Ask thoughtful questions about the client’s property, project goals, timing, and budget.
- Recognize buying signals, uncover client needs, and help qualified prospects move confidently toward a Discovery Meeting.
- Explain our process and help clients understand their next steps.
- Follow up consistently so opportunities don’t fall through the cracks.
- Know what you can answer and when something should be escalated to another team member.
- Create an exceptional first impression of Ashton Pools By Design.
- Learn and understand our complete sales process from initial inquiry through Discovery and Design Meetings.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate consultations, design meetings, site visits, and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure clients provide required information before meetings, including plats/surveys, pricing estimator information, questionnaires, and other documents.
- Maintain accurate client information, notes, tasks, and follow-ups in Hub Spot.
- Track leads and keep opportunities moving through the sales process.
- Prepare the sales and design team for upcoming appointments.
- Manage calendars and appointments using Microsoft Outlook.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and coordinate client and internal meetings.
- Anticipate scheduling conflicts and work proactively to resolve them.
- Track delegated items and follow through without repeated reminders.
- Help keep the Design Studio organized, prepared, and running smoothly.
- Anticipate needs and bring solutions, not just questions.
We don’t expect you to arrive knowing the pool industry.
You’ll develop a working knowledge of concrete, fiberglass, and vinyl-liner pools; spas; spa chemicals and basic water chemistry/testing; and our broader outdoor-living offerings.
You will also learn our sales and construction process, pricing tools, and the basics of reviewing residential property information.
Over time, you should become comfortable reviewing a plat or survey, recognizing common property constraints such as setbacks and easements, understanding basic HOA and lot-coverage considerations, identifying missing information, and knowing when additional research is needed.
Pool knowledge can be taught. Curiosity, judgment, ownership, and the desire to learn are much harder to teach.
The Background We’d Love to FindWe are especially interested in candidates with experience in customer-facing, consultative, or higher-ticket sales.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Kitchen & bath sales
- Remodeling or home-improvement sales
- Landscape or hardscape sales
- Pool or outdoor-living sales
- Builder or new-home sales
- Luxury or high-touch customer service
- Executive support with strong client-facing experience
- Automotive sales or client advisory roles
Experience reading plats, surveys, site plans, or construction-related drawings is a plus, but not required.
What We’re Looking For- Strong sales instinct — naturally asks questions, builds rapport, recognizes opportunities, and confidently guides prospective clients toward the appropriate next step
- Exceptional phone presence
- Quick learner who retains information and can apply what they’ve learned to new situations
- Strong organizational skills and attention…
