American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
MS Tele and Tele experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Skills required in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, and isolation precautions/PPE
Preferred skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, remote and on-unit telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, and pre/post hemodialysis management
Community hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

Med/Surg Tele unit caring for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
Patient ratio of 1:5/6
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7:30a
Every other weekend rotation with holidays as needed
Float required between all Cone Health facilities
Care includes patients with acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general and GYN surgery, total knee/hip replacements, GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetes, renal failure, and drug overdose
May administer IV drips including Heparin and TNA on the unit
Uses Epic EMR
Provide nursing care for a variety of acute medical-surgical and orthopedic conditions, including arrhythmia monitoring and management
Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
Holiday coverage required as needed
