Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry.
The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts each week.
Floating between facilities may be required.
The primary patient population includes acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients.
Common diagnoses include acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-operative care for general surgery and GYN surgery, total knee and hip replacements, and orthopedic conditions.
Nurses will manage patients with acute and chronic pain, active gastrointestinal bleeding, congestive heart failure, diabetes, renal failure, drug overdose, and various seizure disorders.
Patient care may also include those with a CIWA score below 7 and stable COVID cases.
The unit administers IV medication drips such as heparin and total nutrient admixture.
The nurse will be responsible for assessing and managing ports, administering blood products, interpreting dysrhythmias, and maintaining isolation precautions.
Telemetry experience with both unit monitoring and remote monitoring is required.
Nurses must be prepared to use rapid response and code teams as necessary.
A compliance EKG exam will be required prior to clinical practice.
