Position Overview:
++
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance activities, with a particular focus on real estate and property management operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GAAP, advanced analytical skills, and hands-on experience with accounting systems, preferably Real Page.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of property-level and consolidated financial results.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile balance sheets, and oversee journal entries.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple properties and entities.
Accounting Operations
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tenant billing processes.
- Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor lease accounting, rent rolls, and property-related revenue recognition.
- Support tax filings, audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Leverage accounting software to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for improving financial workflows and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate accounting best practices into property management operations.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with property managers, asset managers, and senior leadership to provide financial insights.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and support their professional development.
- Communicate complex financial data clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications:
++
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- CPA license (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with real estate or property management industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software;
Real Page experience strongly preferred. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
