Assistant Controller

Description

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support full-cycle accounting operations and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the organization. This role works closely with leadership to maintain strong financial controls and support ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger

+ Manage full-cycle month-end and year-end close processes

+ Maintain and reconcile all GL accounts, journal entries, accruals, and account schedules

+ Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

+ Implement and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

+ Partner with operations and supply chain teams to understand manufacturing cost drivers

+ Assist with audits and act as a liaison with external auditors

+ Support accounting staff as needed

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment

+ Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and GAAP

+ Hands-on experience overseeing A/P, A/R, GL, and financial reporting

+ Proficiency with ERP systems (manufacturing ERP preferred)

+ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
