Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client in Reno, Nevada. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing and maintaining the financial operations of a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills and a proactive approach to ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily accounting tasks, including journal entries and general ledger management.

- Reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

- Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain cash flow strategies.

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns and sales tax documentation.

- Ensure grant accounting processes are properly managed and maintained.

- Monitor all financial activities and provide detailed reporting to stakeholders.

- Assist in implementing and utilizing the organization's accounting software effectively.

- Maintain thorough documentation of all financial transactions and records.

- Provide support for periodic audits and ensure adherence to financial regulations.

Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

- Familiarity with accounting software systems and ability to adapt to new platforms.

- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to reconcile complex financial data.

- Experience in grant accounting is a plus but not mandatory.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate financial insights effectively.

- Highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

- Previous experience in non-profit accounting is desirable but not required.
