Project Accountant

Metcalf Builders, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to join our construction family. Someone who is interested in joining a company with a true family culture approach and who will help expand on our core values of Safety, Integrity, Trust, and Excellence.

• Provide accounts payable support including entering and posting approved invoices and managing pay application integration with third party billing system (Textura).
• Review and ensure compliance for subcontractor insurance and licensing.
• Review and accurately complete credit application.
• Coordinate accounts receivable functions including billing and lien waivers.
• Track AR payments and follow up to ensure they are received by due date.
• Set up subcontractors’ commitments and change orders.
• Provide equipment tracking on job sites for billing.
• Record journal entries.
• Assist with project specific reporting and analysis.
• Assist project staff with issues regarding subcontract pay application and schedule of values.
• Assist with month-end close activities.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in Excel formula functions, pivot tables, data grooming, etc.
• Analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Self-starter with potential to influence policies and procedures in a growing department.
• Experience billing with AIA G702/703 pay applications.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Flexible with the desire to learn.
• Experience tracking and obtaining subcontractor lien waivers.
• Familiarity with reviewing subcontracts.
• ERP system experience with the ability to generate reports, queries, and journal entries.
• Experience with CMiC software highly desired.

• 2-5 years of related accounting in the construction industry.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
