Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide accounting support.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
- Perform special accounting projects as necessary.
- Know and understand the chart of accounts.
- Reconcile all accounts to subsidiary ledger and/or original source documents.
- Assist in preparing, verifying, and controlling the entry of journal entries to the general ledger.
- Prepare month‑end entries and verify balances.
- Compute, verify, and prepare various bank analysis reports as required.
- Interface with customers, vendors, employees, and all departments regarding all areas of responsibility daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Finance Management.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, co‑workers, and managers in other departments.
- Willingness to work off‑hours as specific needs dictate and to assume more responsibility as required.
- Understand the theory of mechanics of accounting and aptitude for working with financial and statistical data.
- Motivation for continuous self‑development and training.
- Sound working knowledge of all accounting functions.
- Professional attitude in work appearance.
- Ability to deal pleasantly with suppliers and clients on the phone and in person.
- Ability to perform calculations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
- Perform duties under minimal supervision while responding to rapidly varying input requirements; demonstrate drive and initiative.
- Willingly comply with the Employee Handbook.
Minimum education and experience:
Determined by position.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university. - Accepted:
High school diploma or equivalent with two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Position is sedentary and desk‑bound.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional requirement to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasional requirement to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The hourly range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
