SUMMARY

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents. Under the direction of the Revenue Audit Manager, they will be responsible for aspects of daily revenue audit, full-cycle month‑end closing and preparing journal entries to post to the general ledger. The Revenue Accountant will ensure completeness and accuracy of Casino Insight, daily auditing and balancing, compliance and related accounting activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare, make, and/or review journal entries pertaining to gaming and non-gaming operations into the general ledger system.
  • Use the Info Genesis POS system and the interrelationships between systems that are used in non‑gaming revenue audit.
  • Work with Infinium, the accounting module, as well as Stratton Warren, GSR’s inventory module after completing necessary training.
  • Verify validity of figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Conduct scheduled daily audits according to casino, F&B, retail, and support ops SOPs.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
  • Receive, record, and audit all food/beverage/hotel cash turn‑in slips and reconcile to supporting system reports.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports, and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, variances, and profits and losses.
  • Verify Comp Suspense accuracy on a daily/monthly/yearly basis.
  • Reconcile Ticketmaster ticket sales on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Audit guest comp postings daily.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in audits through exception reporting system.
  • Closely work with all levels of team members, communicating areas of noncompliance and any other issues that may arise.
  • Communicate any suspicious activity noted during audits to proper management.
  • Potential to communicate with NGCB on all food/beverage/hotel related matters.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Finance department and with staff members of other departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of procedures related to financial data maintenance.
  • Attend and participate in meetings to be informed of new rules, regulations and procedures and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the Hotel and/or department.
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Understanding of the accounting process and technical systems involved.
  • Assist management in determining alternative solutions to problems, evaluating courses of action and a reaching sound, non‑judgmental decision.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and engaging presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency with modern computer systems and software tools; proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite:
    Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel.
  • Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and complex task completion skills is required.
  • Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, instructing, following instructions, influencing others, and problem‑solving.
  • Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in casino accounting or any combination of education, training, or experience listed that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Exposure to General Ledger Accounting is preferred.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly sitting and occasionally standing, walking, reaching overhead, and bending over during the duration of their shift.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 25lbs or less occasionally.
