Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile financial statements for individuals, businesses, and entities.
- Handle adjustments, reconciliations, and journal entries to maintain financial accuracy.
- Manage fixed assets, including registration, reconciliation, and depreciation tracking.
- Prepare individual and business tax returns, including relevant supporting schedules.
- Calculate capital gains, depreciation, and other tax adjustments as needed.
- Ensure tax filings are completed accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Generate and review tax reports for internal and external use.
- Process payroll and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform bank and accounts reconciliation to maintain financial integrity.
- Enter and verify invoices, ensuring correct classifications and documentation.
- Manage billing preparation and timesheet submissions.
- Maintain and update financial records in accounting software.
- Generate and analyse financial reports for decision-making.
- Ensure proper categorisation and classification of financial transactions.
- Utilise accounting tools for reporting, forecasting, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with international and local accounting standards.
- Support the preparation and management of financial work papers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding financial matters.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA or similar certification is a plus but not required.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Experience with tax preparation, compliance, and payroll processing is preferred.
- Experience with financial reconciliations, journal entries, payroll processing, and general accounting tasks.
- Experience with Australian accounting practices is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, MYOB, or similar tools is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Proactive and adaptable to evolving accounting technologies and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in handling financial matters.
