Summary
The Accountant – General Ledger is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, they will be responsible for all aspects of the full-cycle month-end closing and preparing journal entries to post to the general ledger. The Accountant – General Ledger will ensure completeness and accuracy of GL statements and related accounting activities.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Prepare, make, and/or review journal entries pertaining to gaming and non-gaming operations into the general ledger system
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc financial reports related to gaming and non-gaming operations.
- Collaborate with other members of the Finance department and with staff members of other departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of procedures related to financial data maintenance.
- Assist with preparation of month-end financial statements, balance sheet account reconciliations, and audit work papers.
- Attend and participate in meetings to be informed of new rules, regulations and procedures and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the Hotel and/or department.
- Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

- Understanding of the accounting process and technical systems involved.
- Determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action and reach sound, non-judgmental management decisions.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and engaging presentation skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite:
Word, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook. - Expertise of Excel.
- Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and complex task completion skills is required.
- Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, instructing, following instructions, influencing others, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in casino accounting or any combination of education, training, or experience listed that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Exposure to General Ledger Accounting is preferred.
