Position: Administrative Assistant 3 - College of Engineering Dean's Office

Position Summary

University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Administrative Assistant 3 for the College of Engineering Dean's Office. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Dean’s Office, delivering exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Manage travel requests, expense reports, and purchasing card verifications.
  • Maintain supply inventory and handle all related purchases to keep the office running smoothly.
  • Submit work orders for building maintenance and create a comfortable work environment.
  • Organize college events, meetings, and special programs.
  • Assist with student employment contracts and provide overall support for daily office operations.
  • Co‑advise the Engineering Leadership Council, collaborating with student club leaders on events and student engagement activities.
Qualifications
  • High school graduation or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience that includes one or more of the following: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations with detailed policy explanations; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assistance with staff and management projects and activities.
  • OR one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation

Classified service, Grade 27. Salary based on PPE and Step level. Initial placement typically above Step 01. Salary adjustments require Human Resources approval.
