Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant 4 provides advanced administrative support to the Department Chair and oversees day‑to‑day departmental operations while coordinating closely with UNR Med, Renown, and campus partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Faculty recruitment and onboarding; performance evaluations, promotion and tenure processes; and required reporting for certification and compliance.
- Coordinating departmental events, Grand Rounds, and academic activities in collaboration with OME, GME, and CME.
- Supporting scholarly and research activities, assisting with grant and award submissions, tracking IRB and research timelines, and coordinating meetings and documentation.
- Managing departmental purchasing, P‑Card reconciliations, travel and hosting, faculty expenses, and continuing medical education allowances.
- Maintaining departmental web content, coordinating IT requests, and providing comprehensive academic and operational support for faculty, learners, and leadership across both UNR Med and Renown.
- High‑school graduation or equivalent education.
- Four years of progressively responsible, relevant work experience, including one or more of the following:
- Providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management.
- Performing secretarial duties in support of a manager.
- Coordinating communications between the manager, staff, and program clientele.
- Supervision of subordinate staff.
- Researching information from internal and external sources.
- OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; schedule may change based on organizational needs.
CompensationGrade 29. Salary is determined by the Nevada Administrative Code and based on recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and budgets. Placement above Step
01 at initial appointment is determined elerated salary requests require Human Resources approval.
