Job Summary
Administrative Assistant 3 – Department of Police Services. Primary duties: receptionist and administrative support for records department, ensuring continuity of service at both Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) and University of Nevada, Reno campuses.
Responsibilities- Provide fingerprint services.
- Serve as initial point of contact for walk‑in inquiries.
- Manage daily crime log that supports regulations and incident case log.
- Perform case management duties.
- Perform warrant validation duties.
- Work in a team environment based on respect and dignity for others in a community policing organization.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to other campuses.
- Perform basic clerical and administrative duties.
- Order office supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High‑school graduation or equivalent education.
- At least three years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including one or more of the following areas:
- Maintenance of complex records and files.
- Public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements.
- Preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms.
- Assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
- OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- Valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Adobe software.
- Familiarity with microfiche and working with archived data.
Typical work schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; this may change based on organizational needs.
Grade 27. Salary placement above Step 01 at initial appointment is determined on the basis of qualifications, internal equity and budgets.
