Position: Clerical Aide One Year Only (21 hrs/wk, Ends June 2027)

Summary Description

Under general supervision, performs moderately difficult and responsible clerical work, requiring some independent judgment and application of established office or school policies and procedures. Incumbent performs related work as required.

Senior Clerical Aide Responsibilities
  • Acts as receptionist; answers telephones, greets visitors, and directs public to the appropriate individual.
  • Screen visitors; sort and distribute mail; arrange appointments.
  • Enroll and withdraw students from school, manage records, and maintain related entry and exit forms.
  • Maintain personnel records, locations, and telephone numbers; relay messages for busy or unattended extensions.
  • Type routine correspondence, reports, forms, and notices; proofread and assemble materials.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems; perform simple research to assist inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing federal, state, and district reports; manage student attendance office duties.
  • Support Infinite Campus data cleanup, ensuring all fields are complete and accurate.
  • Assist in formal bilingual duties: perform verbal translations, take messages, act as a point of contact, and interpret during meetings.
Employment Standards

Education/

Experience:

Any combination that provides the required knowledge and skills is acceptable.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical experience.

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, vocabulary and basic mathematics; modern office practices, procedures and equipment; familiarity with computers.

Skills at using good judgment to solve work problems; working independently; providing responsive customer service; establishing effective working relationships; communicating with diverse groups; displaying tact and courtesy; maintaining confidentiality; understanding written and oral instructions; operating typewriters and standard office machines.

Licenses and Certificates

Must demonstrate basic oral Spanish translation competencies by passing a Spanish language certification program (Level One, TMCC). WCSD will coordinate and pay for a competency exam administered by TMCC.

Special Considerations

Incumbents assigned bilingual responsibilities may be required to work a flexible schedule, which may include evening hours.

Salary
  • Clerical Aide – Grade 17
    • Sch A: $15.44 (entry step)
    • Sch B: $18.56 (entry step)

Salary may adjust annually. New employees are normally placed at the entry step of the grade.

Additional Job Information

This position is a one‑year only position ending June 2027.
