Position: Administrative Assistant 3 - Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC)

Job Overview

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC). This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities

This position will represent NNIC professionally in interactions with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as non‑profit partners. Additionally, the role includes documenting all expenditures, assisting the financial team with posting financial transactions, ensuring that case files comply with federal regulations, attending trainings and contractual meetings, supervising case aides and other positions, attending staff meetings and other duties as assigned.

Essential

Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience, which may include maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position is required to transport clients to appointments related to refugee assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who speak two or more languages are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation

Salary is set p placement above Step
01 at initial appointment is determined by recruitment, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and budgets. Additional details can be found in the Nevada Administrative Code and on the classified compensation schedules.
