Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Contract Administrator to manage and oversee electric and gas contracts in compliance with Rule 9 requirements and applicable regulatory standards. This role is responsible for administering contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting cross‑functional collaboration, and minimizing contractual risk. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Administer electric and gas contracts in accordance with Rule 9 requirements and applicable tariffs from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN).
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and assist in the development of contracts, agreements, and addendums for review and approval.
- Track and manage contracts throughout the full contract lifecycle.
- Perform annual reviews of Joint Use Agreements (JPAs) as required under Rule 9, ensuring compliance and timely processing of applicable refunds.
- Analyze and interpret regulatory requirements from PUCN, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and other industry authorities; assess and report potential impacts to management.
- Collaborate with internal departments to mitigate contractual risk and resolve Rule 9–related issues.
- Review contract transactions to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
- Provide cost tracking and analysis for high-profile projects.
- Manage periodic invoicing for projects with special billing terms.
- Support dispute resolution efforts as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with all company policies, codes, and applicable regulations.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 3+ years of related experience in business management, finance, accounting, or contract administration;
- 7+ years of related experience in business management, finance, accounting, or contract administration in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of electric and gas system design principles.
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations governing utility operations.
- Working knowledge of business operations, administrative services, and company products and services.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated time management and decision‑making capabilities.
- Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with enterprise and operational systems.
