The Procurement & Logistics Coordinator role will research, negotiate, and purchase supplies and services to assist in developing geothermal energy projects. This role will establish procurement functions such as evaluating suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing, supporting internal systems, coordinating with the accounting department on purchase orders and invoicing, and assisting in the logistics for the purchases and receipt of goods/services. The ideal candidate will ensure constant and consistent communication with managers and/or executives to meet strategic deadlines throughout the project.
EssentialFunctions
- Prepare request for quotes (RFQ) based on Project Management requirements.
- Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, schedule, quality of goods, expectations, etc.
- Create purchase orders based on requisitions and scopes of work.
- Evaluate supplier proposals to identify nonconformity to RFQ.
- Work closely with management across the company to understand procurement and contract requirements.
- Manage procurement aspects in the project RFQ process, commercial bid evaluation, purchase order award and administration through to final delivery of goods/services and PO closeout.
- Establish relationships with preferred suppliers and understand their current workloads and capabilities.
- Provide support to project cost controls in procurement‑related activities for project POs.
- Follow up with suppliers after contract award for delivery of materials and relevant documentation.
- Work with Finance to ensure invoices are paid on time based on contract requirements.
- Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods/services delivered.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience working in a procurement or sourcing role.
- Understanding of contracts and the ability to interpret them.
- Strong data management and organization skills (Excel, ERP systems, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience assessing and comparing bids for engineering and construction contracts.
- Technical experience in an industrial, petrochemical, power, or drilling setting.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 2+ years procurement and logistics experience in geothermal, construction, or a related field.
- Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information consistently.
- Remains in sedentary position for long periods of time in an office environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to travel as required.
