Language Bank Coordinator – Administrative Assistant 3 (NNIC)

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Language Bank Coordinator to manage the day‑to‑day operations of the language bank and support the Northern Nevada International Center’s (NNIC) refugee resettlement team in providing language access, technology, and community outreach. The coordinator will serve as a leader in language access across state agencies and develop partnerships to elevate the profession of interpreters and translators in Nevada.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the language bank.
  • Support NNIC’s refugee resettlement team with language access, technology, and community outreach.
  • Serve as a leadership liaison for language access across state agencies.
  • Create and maintain partnerships that advance the translator and interpreter profession.
Essential Qualifications
  • High school graduation or equivalent education and at least three years of progressively responsible work experience, including one or more of: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims, and budgeting forms; or assistance with staff and management projects.
  • Alternatively, one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Nevada Class “C” driver’s license or higher, required at appointment and for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in two or more languages.
Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; schedule subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation

Grade 27 Class‑Service; salary determined by Nevada Administrative Code and candidate qualifications.
