Position: Senior Project Coordinator Inspector (40hrs./wk., 260 days)

Project Coordinator/Inspector Senior

The Project Coordinator/Inspector Senior performs ongoing construction inspection and coordination activities on a variety of site, building, remodel, and renewal projects, evaluating all phases of projects to monitor progress, support quality assurance and ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs advanced construction inspection and coordination activities on large, complex modernization and new construction projects involving multiple trades and building systems.
  • Reviews project plans, specifications, and construction documents for constructability, completeness, and compliance with District standards.
  • Conducts comprehensive inspections to ensure quality assurance, proper construction practices, and adherence to plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Monitors project progress, schedules, and contractor performance to ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements, timelines, and budget expectations.
  • Observes field tests, specialized inspections, and technical installations to verify compliance with industry standards and approved construction documents.
  • Identifies construction deficiencies, code issues, or non‑conforming work and coordinates corrective actions with contractors, architects, and District staff.
  • Maintains and reviews detailed project documentation including daily reports, inspection records, change documentation, and as‑built drawings.
  • Co‑ordinates project activities with contractors, consultants, District departments, site personnel, and external agencies to support effective project delivery.
  • Conducts project meetings, site walkthroughs, and final inspections to verify completion, quality, and compliance prior to project closeout and final payment recommendations.
  • Assists in monitoring labor compliance requirements and performs site interviews when required to verify adherence to labor regulations.
  • Reviews contractor work schedules and sequencing to identify potential conflicts, delays, or coordination issues.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to Project Coordinator/Inspectors on inspection procedures, documentation standards, and construction practices.
  • Evaluates field conditions and exercises independent judgment in resolving complex construction issues within established District policies and standards.
  • Assists with project cost evaluations, schedule assessments, and constructability considerations when reviewing project changes or field conditions.
  • Supports project closeout activities including verification of punch list completion, as‑built documentation, and warranty coordination.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision while coordinating closely with District leadership on complex or high‑impact issues.
  • Solicits and reviews proposals from vendors and contractors for District‑performed work.
  • Assists in estimating and coordinating projects performed by District maintenance or shop personnel.
  • Procures materials and coordinates scheduling for District‑performed construction or repair work.
  • Inspects work performed by District trades to verify quality, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Seven (7) years of journey‑level experience in multiple building construction types required.
  • Building inspection and code experience preferred.
  • Supervisory construction experience with multiple trades (i.e., as a Foreman or Superintendent for a general contractor) required.
Licenses and Certificates
  • Valid Nevada State Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • International Code Council (ICC) certifications or recognized equivalent preferred.
Competencies
  • Advanced modern building construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment across multiple trades.
  • Construction safety practices, hazard mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Architectural planning, design principles, and construction sequencing to prevent defects.
