Early Works Construction Project Manager

Location:

Reno, NV (Onsite)

Pay Rate: range likely within $85-$101/hr (based on experience and qualifications)

Schedule:

40 hours/week + ~15 hours OT

Position Summary

The Early Works Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, compliance, and execution of Early Works construction activities in support of large-scale data center development projects.

This role will direct and coordinate daily field operations and ensure successful delivery of complex civil scopes including mass grading, site development, environmental remediation, and utility infrastructure. The position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead on-site construction management for Early Works scopes across data center projects

* Oversee General Contractor performance, schedule adherence, and quality of work

* Serve as the primary point of contact for Early Works construction delivery

* Manage and report on project scope, budget, schedule, and overall performance to leadership

* Coordinate with vendors, cost managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive execution

* Support regulatory agency coordination, permitting efforts, and community engagement activities

* Monitor and enforce safety programs in alignment with organizational and industry standards

* Track project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and report progress via dashboards and KPIs

* Ensure all work meets contract requirements, construction documents, and quality standards

* Provide regular reporting (daily/weekly/monthly) on project status, risks, and costs

* Evaluate vendor performance to ensure compliance with contracts and policy requirements

Scope of Work / Project Focus

* Mass grading and site stabilization

* Stormwater infrastructure and wet utilities

* Substation pad development and utility delivery

* Onsite and offsite roadway and bridge construction

* Environmental remediation, vegetation removal, and demolition

* Monitoring and refining long-range and short-term construction plans

Required Qualifications

* 7+ years of experience managing large-scale construction or capital projects

* 7+ years of construction program/project management experience within the U.S.

* Experience managing mission-critical facilities or large infrastructure projects

* Strong background in civil construction, including mass grading and site development

* Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and cross-functional coordination

* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

* Proficiency in:

* MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

* MS Project

* Bluebeam

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience supporting data center or hyperscale projects

* Familiarity with cold shell construction or distribution center builds

* Experience working in seismic or complex geotechnical conditions

* Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or similar certification

* Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and drive execution in fast-paced environments

Education

* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

* OR equivalent combination of education and experience
