Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site execution of healthcare and commercial construction projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership in coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety and infection control protocols, maintaining rigorous scheduling, and ensuring compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site leadership and day-to-day management of construction activities for healthcare and commercial projects, ensuring work is performed safely and to quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce infection control measures and ICRA procedures on healthcare projects, coordinating with facility personnel to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute project schedules; monitor progress against baseline schedules and work with project managers and subcontractors to mitigate delays.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trade crews, including daily briefings, assigning tasks, and resolving on-site issues to maintain productivity.
  • Perform regular inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes; identify and correct deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, safety logs, manpower and equipment records, RFI and submittal logs, and photographic documentation.
  • Collaborate with project management, superintendents, engineers, architects, owner representatives, and facility staff to facilitate timely decision-making and project coordination.
  • Manage punch lists, commissioning activities, and turnover documentation to ensure timely closeout and owner satisfaction.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements, lead toolbox talks, and support site safety audits and corrective actions.
  • Monitor material deliveries and staging to prevent delays and maintain an organized, safe site.
  • Communicate schedule updates, potential impacts, and progress to project leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of superintendent experience on commercial construction projects; documented experience leading healthcare construction preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection control (ICRA), healthcare facility requirements, and working within occupied healthcare environments.
  • Proven scheduling skills using tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar; ability to produce and update look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing subcontractor performance and labor productivity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills; able to build productive relationships with owners, facility staff, and project teams.
  • Proficiency with construction documentation systems and mobile/site-based reporting tools; capable of maintaining accurate daily logs and RFIs.
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Associates degree or technical certification in construction management, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to and work at multiple job sites; willingness to work extended hours and be on-call as project needs dictate.
  • Certifications such as CCM, LEED, or CLC are a plus.
