We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support commercial and industrial concrete construction projects across the Reno market. This is a highly field‑focused role with minimal office time. The Safety Manager will be responsible for maintaining a visible onsite presence, supporting active crews, enforcing established safety procedures, and partnering with field leadership to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
This position supports multiple active Reno‑area jobsites, including large‑scale slab construction and data center‑related concrete work. Established SOPs are already in place, so the primary focus is strong field execution, clear communication, consistency, and proactive safety leadership.
The ideal candidate is not a "safety cop." This person should be able to build credibility with crews, communicate effectively with superintendents and management, and address issues directly without creating unnecessary conflict.
Key Responsibilities- Provide field safety oversight across multiple Reno‑area concrete construction projects
- Conduct daily site walks, audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
- Maintain a visible presence with crews during active operations
- Support safety performance across forming, finishing, tilt‑up, cast‑in‑place, slab, and concrete pour activities
- Enforce established safety policies and issue write‑ups when necessary
- Identify safety gaps and communicate concerns clearly to superintendents and management
- Partner with another Safety Manager to maintain consistent site coverage
- Support overnight concrete pours when required
- Promote a proactive, solutions‑focused safety culture
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and follow‑up items
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- Strong construction field safety background
- Experience supporting commercial or industrial construction projects
- Strong communication skills with craft workers, superintendents, and leadership
- Ability to enforce safety standards while maintaining credibility with field teams
- Commercial or industrial concrete construction experience
- Experience with tilt‑up, cast‑in‑place, slab pours, forming, or finishing operations
- 4‑year degree in safety, construction management, or related field
- BCSP certification preferred, CHST strongly preferred
The right candidate will bring strong field presence, practical construction safety knowledge, and the ability to influence crews without relying on confrontation. This role requires someone who is proactive, organized, solutions‑oriented, and comfortable working across multiple active jobsites.
This is a great opportunity for a Safety Manager who wants a long‑term direct‑hire role with strong compensation, excellent incentives, and steady field‑based construction work in the Reno market.
Knowledge BaseCandidates should have a solid understanding of OSHA construction standards, concrete construction safety practices, tilt‑up operations, slab pours, hazard recognition, site inspections, corrective actions, and field‑level safety communication.
