Full-Time POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex commercial construction projects from
preconstruction through closeout. This role oversees project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement,
risk management, and client relationships while providing leadership and mentorship to project teams. The
position also supports business development initiatives and drives operational excellence across multiple
projects.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS /KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all phases of commercial construction projects from preconstruction to completion.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Identify and resolve scope gaps, scheduling conflicts, and contract issues.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor buyouts, vendor negotiations, and material purchasing.
- Review and approve RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project billings.
- Manage project financials, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Oversee project closeout, warranties, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support business development, client presentations, and proposal efforts.
- Build and maintain long-term client and industry relationships.
- Contribute to company strategy, operational improvements, and continuous process enhancements.
- 7+ years of construction experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience independently managing commercial construction projects.
- Experience managing large, complex, multi-phase, or high-risk commercial projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, contracts, scheduling, and cost control.
