Position
Student Worker – Sagebrush Assistant Sports Editor
Job SummaryApplicants should be experienced with sports writing and have a passion for collegiate athletics, especially at the University of Nevada, Reno. They should also have experience with AP style and a basic understanding of media ethics and media law as they pertain to reporting on a college campus.
Responsibilities- Cover sports events and assist the Sports Editor with editing articles and multimedia content throughout the week.
- Collaborate across sections in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Experience with sports writing.
- Passion for collegiate athletics, especially at the University of Nevada, Reno.
- Experience with AP style.
- Basic understanding of media ethics and media law, especially as they pertain to reporting on a college campus.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Be a student of the University of Nevada, Reno.
- Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 12 credits unless a graduating senior.
