KOLO 8 News Now is the ABC, CW, and Telemundo affiliate serving the Reno/Sparks area, Northern Nevada, and parts of eastern California. The station broadcasts seven hours of news each weekday and is committed to community service through KOLO Cares, partnering with local non‑profit organizations.
Job SummaryKOLO seeks a multimedia journalist to work Monday through Friday. The role involves shooting, editing, and writing news stories for newscasts, posting content to the station website and social media, and contributing story pitches. The journalist should be a self‑starter, naturally curious, and comfortable interacting with people.
Responsibilities- Shoot video segments for local news stories
- Edit footage using ENPS, Edius, and ARC
- Write clear, concise news scripts for broadcast
- Post completed stories to the station website and social media platforms
- Develop and pitch new story ideas to editorial staff
- Two years of newsroom or reporting experience preferred
- Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, social media platforms, and ARC is a plus
