The Reno‑Tahoe Airport Authority seeks an experienced Airport Communications Specialist to join Operations and Public Safety. This role coordinates inbound and outbound communications for customer service, security, emergencies, and public information.
Applicants must be available for all shifts (day, swing, graveyard) 7 days a week, including holidays. Shift assignments are based on seniority using a bid system.
Responsibilities- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units from a computer‑aided dispatch system.
- Operate and maintain electronic paging, public‑address, and computer‑based routing systems.
- Monitor CCTV, door/gate access, fire alarms, and smoke detectors.
- Use NCIC to verify information and process warrants.
- Communicate with public‑service agencies during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents.
The starting salary range is $27.29–$32.05 per hour, with potential increases up to $39.21. Non‑day shift workers receive a $3.00 shift differential. The position is hourly and overtime eligible.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in a detail‑oriented, multi‑tasking environment with public or customer contact.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Typing proficiency of 40 words per minute.
