Full Time - Eligible for Benefits## Position Purpose Physician shall provide clinical services to patients who are appropriate for the scope of a pediatric neurologist epilepsy, and seizure disorders. Physician shall provide regular clinic and reading/interpretation of EEGs including video EEGs. Physician will be expected to collaborate with and supervise mid-level providers. Physician can expect to have some involvement with telemedicine whether it be patient or physician consultations or remote EEG readings.
A component of the physician’s time will be allocated to teaching residents and medical students as appropriate. Compensation expectations for pediatric specialists within Renown Health include meeting quality metrics through documentation, timely closure of charts, maintaining high patient satisfaction scores, and meeting citizenship expectations as a colleague and teacher. Physician will meet with Pediatrician-in-Chief to review these expectations twice yearly.##
Nature and Scope The incumbent obtains history, examines, diagnoses, counsels, and treats patients within the physician’s area of specialty and experience. The incumbent makes critical decisions regarding medical care. The incumbent works closely and in cooperation with the management staff, directs comments and questions to the appropriate management person and follows administrative policies. The incumbent actively participates in physician governance meetings, management decisions, and follows policies adopted by Renown Health and its medical staff.
The incumbent stays abreast of current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending in-services and educational meetings, and attending continuing medical education programs in the appropriate field.
A Pediatric neurologist with subspecialty training in epilepsy brings additional expertise for in-depth evaluation and treatment of patients living with epilepsy, interpretation/report generation of related diagnostic modalities, including, but not limited to, standard EEG, ambulatory EEG, long-term inpatient EEG monitoring (LTM/cEEG), and EMU evaluations. The incumbent must have an ability to understand and interpret complex imaging techniques related to epilepsy evaluation and treatment.
They contribute specialized knowledge to interdisciplinary care teams, participate in subspecialty-specific research endeavors, and may provide consultation services to other healthcare providers.
Pediatric Neurologists with sub-specialty training in epilepsy adhere to the highest standards of patient-centered care, professional integrity, and ethical practice. They engage in continuous education, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, and scholarly activities to enhance patient outcomes and advance the field of neurology.
