Rheumatology Physician

As an Adult Rheumatologist, employee is trained to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal and systemic autoimmune conditions including but not exclusively systemic connective tissue diseases, vasculitis's and related disorders, seronegative spondyloarthropathies, rheumatic disorders associated with metabolic, endocrine and hematological disease, bone and cartilage disorders, and hereditary, congenital and inborn errors of metabolism associated with rheumatic syndromes. Employee must have knowledge and training in arthrocentesis and soft tissue injections with or without ultrasound guidance.

Employee must also be knowledgeable and trained regarding use and management of chemotherapeutic modalities used in the treatment of the above stated conditions including DMARD therapy, the use of biologics and small molecule medications. This position is responsible for delivering care in an ambulatory and occasional inpatient setting. The ambulatory setting may also include reaching out to remote ambulatory settings through the use of tele-health medicine.

Employee may be expected to provide professional services outside the Scope of Services identified in his or her contract as needed in times of emergencies or other exigent circumstances.

Provides medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing patient care within the scope of their education, training, experience, licensure, and board certification (if applicable). Exercises clinical judgment in accordance with accepted standards of medical practice, applicable laws and regulations, and organizational policies. Performs only those clinical services for which they have been granted medical staff privileges and/or clinical practice prerogatives by the organization and maintains all required credentials and certifications necessary to fulfill those responsibilities.

Position Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school required. Completion of an accredited residency program in the applicable specialty and eligibility for, or certification by, the appropriate specialty board required. Must maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state and meet all applicable credentialing and privileging requirements.

Licensure

Required:

• Active Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) license in the State of Nevada.
• DEA and Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance licensure
• Current board certification in the applicable specialty or board eligibility in accordance with medical staff bylaws.

Certification

Required:

• Current ACLS (Hospitalists)

Minimum

Work Experience:

• Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.

Essential Functions:

General Practices:

• Practices in accordance with acceptable medical standards.
• Practices prerogatives, specific procedures, and privileges within his/her capabilities and authorization.
• Completes medical records in a timely manner according to the medical staff by-laws and rules and regulations.

Communication/Protocols:

• Works in conjunction with the entire clinic staff to provide a patient centered care team with effective communication being the common denominator.
• Communicates with employers, insurance company representatives, and other health care providers concerning patient care.
• Participates in preceptor training for medical assistant.
• Follows all HIPAA regulations at all times.
