Renown Health—northern Nevada’s only locally owned, not-for-profit integrated academic health system—is seeking a Pediatric Psychologist specializing in inpatient consult-liaison care to join our team at Renown Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Team. This is a unique opportunity to support medically complex children and adolescents with chronic conditions while working closely with their families and an interdisciplinary pediatric team.
Why This Role Stands Out This is not a traditional outpatient role. You will:
Practice at the bedside, supporting children facing serious and chronic medical conditions
Address the emotional, behavioral, and adjustment needs of patients and families navigating complex diagnoses
Serve as a key member of a highly collaborative inpatient care team, including pediatric subspecialists, nursing, child life, and social work
Help shape care delivery through integrated, whole-child behavioral health models
What You’ll DoProvide inpatient consult-liaison psychological services within Renown Children’s Hospital Support children and adolescents with chronic and acute medical conditions (e.g., oncology, GI, endocrinology, neurology, etc.)Deliver evidence-based interventions addressing:
Adjustment to illness
Pain management
Adherence and coping
Family systems and caregiver support
Partner with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and experience
Contribute to program development and expansion of pediatric behavioral health services
Academic & Teaching Opportunities Formal affiliation with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Opportunities to teach and supervise:
Medical students
Pediatric and psychiatry residents
Child & adolescent psychiatry fellows
Engage in scholarly activities or program innovation, if desired
