Are you ready to ignite creativity and build the next generation of architects? Are you looking to inspire future design professionals? Then this grant-funded, full-time architecture faculty position at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is for you!

TMCC is the "jobs college" for Northern Nevada and the Applied Technology Division is seeking an architecture faculty member to join their outstanding team! The mission of our Applied Technology Division is to provide innovative, industry-relevant training and upskilling for the diverse community we serve. architecture courses currently scheduled at TMCC's William N. Pennington Center of Applied Technology at 475 Edison Way.

At TMCC, we're not just about degrees; we're about pathways to great paying jobs! Our architecture program offers stackable credentials from an Associate's of Applied Science to a Bachelor's of Architecture (B.Arch.) Degree. The

B.Arch. program has been accepted for initial candidacy for accreditation by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB), paving the way for our students to pursue professional licensure!

We are seeking applicants from all backgrounds and life experiences. We are looking for transferable skills sets that are applicable to this role. This full-time, grant-funded teaching position would commence August 13, 2026 and conclude June 30, 2027.

Minimum Qualifications

● Bachelor of Architecture Degree from a NAAB accredited institution and 3 years of full-time practice experience in a professional architectural workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

● Masters of Architecture degree from a regionally accredited institution.

● A Master's degree is required to teach 300 and 400 level courses.

● Prior experience teaching at the college level or in adult education programs.

Academic Responsibilities

Teaching and workload assignments are scheduled throughout the calendar year, and may require evening and weekend obligations at one or more college locations.

● Teach 15 credits or contact hours per semester, according to the instructional

calendar; courses are primarily face-to-face, with three courses offered in on-line or hybrid modalities.

● Assist with the NAAB accreditation process by providing input and actively

participating in regular meetings.

● Support student learning outcomes assessment processes by teaching toward approved student learning outcomes and assessing student performance.

● Assist with curriculum and program review, revision, and assessment. Aid in the development of new course materials and innovative instructional techniques that improve student learning.

● Work closely with department peers and administrators to become an effective teacher and contributing member of the academic unit.

● Maintain and set up the equipment for assigned lab classes; promptly report any broken equipment to the administration.

● Mentor new part-time faculty.

● Participate in department activities such as advisory boards, industry partner visits, program review, inventory, and outreach events.

● Attend and actively participate in College events, department and division meetings, college or Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) committees, and community service activities.

● Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in field knowledge and pedagogies that expand breadth and depth of understanding in the discipline.

● Complete training outlined in TMCC's Faculty Standards of Online Instruction, when and as needed.

● Hold 5 office hours per week.

● Participate in student advising, recruitment, and retention efforts.

● Travel occasionally to community and workforce sites, conferences, events, and so on, per the needs of the program.

● Communicate and interact in a professional, timely and collegial manner with faculty, students, staff, and administration.
