Job Description
Teaching Professor, Economics/Director of Aerospace & Defense Academy at The University of Nevada, Reno. The College of Business Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship and the Department of Economics are recruiting for a Director of Aerospace and Defense Academy. This is a Principal Lecturer/Teaching Professor (non‑tenure track) position.
The Aerospace and Defense Academy will address the growing shortage of human capital entering government contracting business and equip small businesses, including woman and minority‑owned enterprises, with the tools to do business with the government and build an industry base pipeline. The Academy has three pillars: a high‑school engagement program, a professional development program, and a digital platform for small businesses.
The Director will oversee the program and will be responsible for curriculum creation, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, developing high‑school engagement, securing experiential learning opportunities, collaborating with Sierra Nevada Corporation on a new digital platform for small businesses, and leading the hiring and supervision of a program coordinator, an adjunct faculty member, and a graduate assistant.

Required QualificationsLecturer IV:
Master’s degree and 7 years of related experience.
Teaching Professor:
Terminal degree and 7 years of related experience.
Government contracting.
Preferred Qualifications- Potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Potential to develop a nationally competitive program.
- Potential to supervise and mentor those hired, including an adjunct faculty, a program coordinator, and a graduate assistant.
- Potential to collaborate productively with faculty in academic units in the college and across campus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
Principal Lecturer/Teaching Professor, 12‑month, Non‑tenure track.
