High‑Qualified Status (HQ)

• High school diploma or equivalency and one of the following: 48+ semester hours of college credit, an associate's degree or higher, or a Para Pro Assessment score of at least 460.

• Assist teaching staff in special‑education classrooms by providing individual or group support to students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities.
• Provide attendant services such as toileting, hygiene, diapering, nutrition, and mobility assistance.
• Help with class entry/exit, transport, and maintenance of safety protocols.
• Support classroom instruction, implement behavior plans, and use positive behavior‑management techniques.
• Maintain accurate records and respect confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in district‑wide training and implement non‑violent behavioral‑intervention procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 48 semester hours of college credit, an associate's degree, or a Para Pro score ≥460.
• Experience with students who have intellectual, physical, or behavioral needs.
• Knowledge of behavior‑management techniques, positive reinforcement, and behavior plans.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Physical ability to lift students weighing 50–80 pounds.
• Adult supervision experience and the ability to establish relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• CPI certification preferred.
• Minimum age 18.

Grade 16. Salary ranges: $14.54 (Sch A) to $17.20 (Sch B) for the entry step.
