Resident Assistant – Summer Position

The Resident Assistant (RA) position at the University of Nevada, Reno offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to support their education while living on campus. RAs are responsible for fostering a positive community, assisting students in acclimating to university life, and promoting learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a role model and support community development through programming and peer support.
  • Enforce residence hall policies to ensure safety and security.
  • Handle administrative duties such as checking residents in and out, and managing maintenance requests.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in the University of Nevada, Reno as a full‑time student in good standing.
  • Eligible to live in the residence halls.
  • Maintain a semester GPA of 2.50 or higher throughout employment.
  • Complete at least 30 credits of coursework per academic year (or an average of 15 credits per semester).
  • Have a minimum of two semesters of full‑time college status.
  • Able to handle at least 15 credits per semester while balancing student leadership responsibilities.
Compensation

Grade:
Furnished room (roommate possible based on occupancy). Utilities and meal plan. Partial tuition waiver of $14 per credit for up to 15 credits after completing two semesters.

Guest Experience Team Member – Summer Position

The University of Nevada, Reno seeks Guest Experience Team Members (GETs) to provide customer service and act as the point of reference for guests during summer conferences, orientations, and summer school. GETs must reside on campus and support various operational tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing residence hall accommodations for conference arrivals and departures (e.g., delivering linen packets, blankets, key preparation, auditing).
  • Perform on‑call duties, maintain a duty phone at all times on scheduled days, and respond to calls during on‑call hours.
  • Enforce residence hall policies and report violations.
  • Respond to crises such as fire alarms, power outages, safety and maintenance concerns, and other emergencies.
  • Check guests in and out of rooms, post signs, fill out incident reports, and conduct roster verification checks.
  • Attend staff meetings and maintain performance standards.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.
  • In good academic standing and eligible to live in the residence halls.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher throughout employment.
  • Registered for classes in the fall semester following employment, with no more than one class during each summer session.
  • Should not hold additional on‑campus employment during the summer role.
Schedule and Compensation

Duty:
May 16 – Aug 9. Minimum 20 hours per week to qualify for housing and meal plan. Additional paid hours (10–20 per week) may be available for conference‑related projects or front‑desk work. Compensation:
Furnished room (roommate possible), utilities, meal plan, and paid hours at $13.00 per hour (returned workers $13.50 per hour). Only after 20 hours worked.
