Job Overview
The Disability Resource Professional and Learning Specialist will work with students in the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, supporting the inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities, especially MD Program learners.
Responsibilities- Provide learning strategies, coaching, assistance, and referrals to students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with the Disability Resource Center, Office of Curricular Affairs, and faculty to promote inclusive educational practices and equitable accommodation procedures across pre‑clerkship and clerkship phases.
- Meet one‑on‑one and in small groups to develop individualized learning strategies and recommend screening or additional support services.
- Serve as a campus representative for inclusive practices, gathering and using data to inform decision‑making.
- Work with the Student Affairs team, supervising staff and collaborating with course directors and teaching faculty.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of related experience, or Master’s degree with at least one year of related experience.
- Experience in academic or student support services, teaching, instructional coaching, or disability services in secondary or post‑secondary educational settings.
- Demonstrated record of collaborative relationship building and teamwork.
- Ability to obtain and carry a Nevada driver’s license.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of higher‑education student accommodation best practices.
Grade B Market Salary Band: $44,238–$55,297–$66,356.
