Community Based Instructor 3 – Clark County
Location:
Las Vegas, Nevada. This position implements 4‑H programs focused on Communications, Expressive Arts, Civic Engagement, and Leadership for youth ages 5‑19.
- Provide programming in schools, community centers, public housing sites, day‑camp and overnight camp settings.
- Update and adapt curricula to meet audience needs; contribute to new curriculum development through observations and evaluations.
- Collaborate with 4‑H teams and volunteers.
- Coordinate program logistics, maintain records, prepare reports, purchase supplies, support volunteers through training and assistance, recruit volunteers, and aid marketing efforts such as creating flyers and updating social media.
- Provide support to the 4‑H Teen Council, Advisory Board, and Leader’s Council as needed.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience in agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, or natural resources in urban and rural areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
- Completion of a fingerprinting/background check.
- Experience working with school‑aged children (ages 9‑19).
- Teaching experience for adult and child learners.
- Experience with 4‑H programs.
Variable work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
CompensationGrade 27, Entry, Step 01. Salary placement above Step 01 is determined by recruitment, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and budgets.
