HSE Preparation Part-Time Faculty

Job Description

Part‑time faculty are invited to teach high‑school equivalency courses in the Department of Adult Basic Education at Truckee Meadows Community College. Positions are available for in‑person, online, or hybrid delivery and are based on temporary assignments as vacancies occur.

• Under the supervision of the Department Chair, teach course content and facilitate student learning.
• Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain current knowledge and practice within the teaching field.
• Refer students to supportive college resources as needed.
• Complete required professional development and adopt current technology in instruction.
• Adhere to ethical and professional conduct standards set by the college.
• Teach courses as assigned (e.g., Math 1, Math 2, ELA 1, ELA
  2).

• Associate’s degree.
• Strong desire to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

• Teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching high‑school equivalency or adult basic education courses.

Hourly pay ranges from $23.00 to $41.50, dependent on experience and educational background.
