Job Overview
Commissioner of Clubs and Organizations – an appointed student leader within the Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN). The role serves as a liaison for clubs and organizations in assigned coalitions, assisting with funding, recognition, renewal, and overall support.
Responsibilities- Act as liaison for clubs and organizations in assigned coalitions appointed by the Director and the Department.
- Review funding applications submitted by clubs and organizations for Funding Hearings.
- Attend weekly Department meetings, reporting on projects, initiatives, and updates for the coalition.
- Serve as a resource to club leaders for assistance with club recognition, club renewal, and funding.
- Reach out to each club in the coalition to arrange meetings or activities as directed by the director of the Clubs and Organizations department.
- Mentor and educate the Department of Clubs and Organizations Intern(s) assigned to the coalition.
- Maintain a 2.00 GPA while enrolled in at least 7 credits.
- Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents.
- Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct.
- Meet all deadlines set forth by the Department.
- Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
- Work scheduled hours and properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time.
- Assist in promoting the mission of ASUN and the University of Nevada, behaving in an ethical manner.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and other duties as required.
- Willingness to learn about funding processes, grant applications, fundraising opportunities, and event planning guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and track processing of club requests within assigned coalition.
- Ability to coordinate proactive outreach and meetings with student leaders through a service‑oriented approach.
- Motivation to further the goals and initiatives of ASUN, including enhancing communication with clubs and promoting grant program awareness.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in supporting clubs and organizations.
- Flexibility, adaptability, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to mentor an intern during fall and spring semesters.
Grade Student Employee Level 1: $3,000 distributed evenly over a 12‑month period within a single term.
