Position: Para educator Aide 2 OYO  ES (30 hrs./wk., Ends June 2027)

Position Overview

PARA EDUCATOR AIDE II supports teaching staff through classroom assistance, clerical duties, and student supervision under guidance. The role emphasizes clerical support and behavior management rather than direct academic instruction.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • At least 48 semester hours of college coursework, an associate’s degree, or higher; or a Para Pro Assessment score of at least 460.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with school‑age youth (applicable to enrichment aide duties).
  • Knowledge of educational principles, student behavior, basic discipline, English usage, mathematics, office procedures, and common office equipment.
  • Skills in student rapport, discipline, clerical reporting, supervision, and office/AV equipment operation.
Responsibilities
  • Assist teaching staff with classroom and school‑related activities; conduct tests, type and correct student work, distribute materials, and prepare classroom/AV equipment.
  • Maintain student attendance and attendance records, classroom bulletin boards, and lunch money counts.
  • Supervise students during tests, lunch, playgrounds, library, study halls, buses, and field trips; verify hall passes and monitor safety and discipline.
  • Order supplies and equipment, and operate common office machines.
  • When assigned to enrichment activities: provide leadership, sportsmanship, discipline, after‑school support, and supervision in various settings.
Employment Standards & Compensation

Grade 14 (FY27). Salary ranges:
Schedule A $12.38 (entry step);
Schedule B $14.88 (entry step). New hires start at entry step. Salary increases, longevity bonuses, and other benefits apply.
