Summary Description
Under the direction of the principal and in collaboration with school counseling and the Career Technical Education program, plans, coordinates, communicates, and administers the activities of the Career Center.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule, coordinate, and oversee career‑related projects.
- Organize and implement career development programs with counseling and faculty input.
- Manage the career center budget and maintain materials.
- Operate computerized career delivery systems.
- Serve as liaison to post‑secondary institutions, military, businesses, and community agencies.
- Maintain career folders and publicize scholarship/financial‑aid information.
- Coordinate career assessments and field trips, and collect and report data.
- Collaborate with librarian and counseling staff to identify resources.
Education
:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college experience desirable;
Career Development Facilitator Certification desirable.
Experience
:
Minimum six months related work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties.
- Knowledge of computers, career delivery systems, scholarships, and financial aid.
- Understanding of secondary school procedures, curriculum, and record‑keeping.
- Proficiency in word processing and PowerPoint.
- Problem‑solving, effective communication, multitasking, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
- Establish positive relationships with teachers, students, staff, businesses, and community representatives.
Career Development Facilitator Certificate desirable.
Work is predominantly sedentary; occasional walking, bending, or light lifting may occur.
Work EnvironmentOffice setting with normal safety precautions; adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation.
