Summary Description
Under the direction of the Director of the Department of ELD the Department of ELD Programming Coordinator position coordinates the ELD Site Facilitator instructional model work in the district and supports English Language development as outlined in federal, state, and district program guidance. This educator also works with teachers and administrators to assist with improving system wide practices in both these areas, thus directly impacting the support for students learning English as a second language.
ELPROGRAM COORDINATOR
Under the direction of the Director of the Department of ELD the Department of ELD Programming Coordinator position coordinates the ELD Site Facilitator instructional model work in the district and supports English Language development as outlined in federal, state, and district program guidance. This educator also works with teachers and administrators to assist with improving system wide practices in both these areas, thus directly impacting the support for students learning English as a second language.
EXEMPLARYDUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Director of ELD in achieving district objectives and carrying out policies established by the Chief Academic Officer, Superintendent and Board of Trustees in providing equitable access to instruction for all students.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives as they pertain to areas of responsibility.
- Provides technical assistance to district and school teams in designing, planning and implementing the Multilingual Education programs (ELD Site Facilitator and English Language Development).
- Facilitates ELD Site Facilitator program network with schools within the district to foster collaboration and program sustainability.
- Supports the district plan for implementing the ELD Site Facilitator Model K-12.
- Assists Director of ELD in overseeing the coaching support to schools in implementing the ELD Site Facilitator Model and English Language Development programs.
- Conducts English Learner data analysis to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Plans, supports, and leads professional development activities with Director of ELD to ensure that programs and support services are implemented according to regulations.
- Assists the Director of ELD in the recruitment, screening, evaluation, interview, and selection process for ELD Site Facilitators.
- Provides guidance and coordination to the district wide English language learner certificated and classified staff.
- Coordinates special projects as necessary.
- Spends significant time at schools in direct and personal consultation with students, principals, and EL staff to provide the full range of multilingual education needs.?
- Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel; assists the Director of ELD in coordinating the work assignments and training of assigned personnel; reviews work to assure compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures; takes the necessary steps to ensure smooth and timely service to all employees and to prospective employees.?
- Develops and implements long- and short-term plans and activities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Education:
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in educational leadership, administration, or related field. - Experience:
Three (3) years administrative experience, with a supervisory role in instruction preferred. - Experience:
Three (3) years or more experience working in schools or central office as a teacher or instructional coach. - Licenses/Certificates:
Possession of a valid Nevada license endorsement in school or program administration (Nevada Administrator's License). TESOL endorsement is preferred.

Skill at facilitating meetings; organizing and scheduling professional development; coaching; communication and collaborating with site administrators, teachers, teaching assistants and families; communicating effectively orally and in writing; evaluating certified and classified personnel, assessing, establishing, and maintaining effective working relationships with school sites, district departments and community organizations;
data entry, and writing reports.
