Student Worker Clerical Assistant – Radon Education Program
University of Nevada, Reno Extension seeks a motivated and detail‑oriented student worker to provide administrative, outreach, and communications support for the Radon Education Program in Reno, NV.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Program Manager with general administrative tasks.
- Collect, organize, and track program data and outreach metrics.
- Coordinate outreach efforts by contacting community partners to schedule radon education classes and events.
- Update and maintain radon maps, statistics, and reporting tools.
- Help update website content and program materials.
- Respond professionally to phone and email inquiries from stakeholders and the public.
- Compile articles, updates, and images for quarterly newsletters.
- Update fact sheets and educational materials as needed.
- Prepare and ship class materials to event locations statewide.
- Support community outreach events (e.g., health fairs, workshops), including assisting with informational tables and engaging with the public.
- Current University of Nevada, Reno student in good academic standing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Professional and courteous communication when interacting with community members.
- Interest in public health, environmental science, communications, or a related field.
- Experience with administrative support, outreach, or student organizations.
- Experience working with data or tracking information.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Word Press).
- Experience creating newsletters or communication materials.
- Gain hands‑on experience in program coordination, communications, and community engagement.
- Contribute to meaningful public health education that benefits communities across Nevada.

Work SchedulePart‑time (up to 20 hours per week). Hours are flexible based on class schedule and program needs. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support outreach events.
CompensationStudent Worker: $20 per hour.
