Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to pantry guests, responding to questions, requests for assistance, and suggestions.
  • Provide the best in‑person service to all members who attend the pantry, ensuring that basic need supports are provided, such as food and hygiene items.
  • Help create an inclusive environment in which all individuals who visit the pantry feel welcomed and respected.
  • Assist students who walk in to access the pantry and help gather the appropriate data.
  • Inform Pack Provisions users about additional resources so that members feel encouraged to return to the pantry over time.
  • Assist with inventory, picking up food orders from community partners, loading, unloading, and stocking shelves.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and effective communication to assist with operating the pantry and its programming.
  • Assist with program data records.
  • Ensure that community and campus resources in the pantry are always updated and available to users.
  • Ensure the pantry complies with proper health codes by safely handling and storing food, completing necessary expiration compliance and temperature logs.
  • Clean the pantry, storage areas, and distribution tools as needed.
  • Attend outreach events and assist with donation drives.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the pantry by representing Pack Provisions both on‑ and off‑campus, interacting with students, staff, faculty, alumni, media, and community partners in person, on the phone, and through email.
  • Support the mission of the Center for Student Engagement and its values, including equity and inclusion, learning, service, leadership, and community.
  • Oversee pantry marketing needs in collaboration with Inkblot (ordering handbills, tabling materials, stickers, creating content for the CSE Social Media page, and flyers for events).
  • Accurately record food and supply expenditures in the budget.
  • Create and update educational materials about additional resources available to students and staff.
  • Collaborate with various food insecurity committees and the Coordinator, Student Food Pantry.
  • Research literature and best practices for campus food pantries, staying apprised of local and national conversations related to student food insecurity.
  • Develop and improve policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Student Lead for content and weekly social media posts.
  • Manage Pack Provisions email and list serve, responding to email promptly and/or forwarding emails to appropriate staff.
  • Submit monthly FBNN reports and update monthly history data by the 10th of each month, regardless of whether the 10th falls on a weekend.
  • Reconcile meal swipe donations each semester.
  • Send monthly thank‑you cards to the top three donors and to on/off‑campus leads hosting donation or fundraiser drives.
Required Qualifications
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher.
  • Be a full‑time student working toward graduation.
  • Be able to work 20 hours per week.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.

  • Availability to work on Monday and Friday.
Schedule and Compensation

20 hours per week. Compensation of $12.50 per hour. Position is exempt.
