Job Title

Academic Advisor 1 or Academic Advisor 2 – School of Public Health, University of Nevada, Reno.

Join a team of advisors committed to student success. The Academic Advisor will serve as a resource for new and current students, ensuring timely progress toward degree completion.

• Provide academic advising to prospective, new, transfer, and continuing undergraduate students in individual and group settings regarding schedule, choice of major, number of hours to be taken, etc.
• Offer expertise in core curriculum and major program requirements; participate in retention activities; support recruitment events and college-specific projects.
• Advising returning students, creating advisement plans for targeted groups, developing advising and recruitment materials.
• Provide training and support to peer leaders and faculty for college-specific directives; organize recruitment activities on and off campus.
• Maintain community relationships.

• Academic Advisor 1 – Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience in a field related to academic advising or student services.
• Academic Advisor 2 – Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience in academic advising, teaching, student services or related fields.

Occasional travel required.

Academic Advisor 1:
Compensation Grade B1 – Exempt.
Academic Advisor 2:
Compensation Grade B2 – Exempt.
