Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada, is seeking a Recruiter for the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program. This part-time LOA position allows up to 19.5 hours per week and is temporary, grant‑funded through August 31 2025 with anticipated continued funding through August 31 2026.

• Build and maintain relationships with Northern Nevada Veterans organizations and community groups
• Attend community outreach events to recruit students for the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program
• Market and promote the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program

• Graduated from high school or an equivalent education, or a combination of education and experience
• Connected with or have networks at veteran agencies and community organizations

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
• Used veteran educational benefits to attend college
• Veteran of the United States military

• Greet and interact with veterans and other community members
• Provide information and assistance to the public and potential students regarding the VUB program
• Assist potential students accurately completing program application
• Schedule appointments and make referrals within the college and community organizations
• Provide information about resources in the veteran community
• Use email and computer systems comfortably
• Assemble and disassemble pop‑up banners and/or canopies
• Lift up to 40 lb
• Use personal vehicle to attend outreach events
• Perform other related duties as requested or assigned

Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus a flexible schedule to attend community events as required.

$20.00 per hour (for the part‑time position).

This position is an on‑going pool of qualified individuals interested in part‑time, temporary non‑tenure‑track instructional opportunities se opportunities are part‑time only and will not be continued beyond the ending date. They may be terminated at will at any time for any reason, without notice; the appointee has no appeal rights. Temporary assignments are not eligible for tenure or consideration as part of the assignment.
