Research Assistant Professor, Physiology

Position

Research Assistant Professor, Physiology – 12-month, full‑time contract at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.

• Conduct high‑quality research aligned with current funded projects.
• Publish papers in respected scientific journals.
• Seek and secure extramural funding to support research.
• Develop independent lines of research as resources allow.
• Mentor and train junior researchers.
• Participate in a collaborative scientific environment within the department.
• Engage in career development activities with senior mentors.
• Assume teaching responsibilities when appropriate (initially not required).
• Contribute to service activities no greater than 5% of effort.

• Ph.D. in Physiology, cell biology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated excellence in research and experience securing external funding.
