The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a student worker for The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources. The Nevada Agriculture Experiment Station is seeking a ranch/farm hand at our Main Station Field Lab. The student must be a motivated self-starter with initiative, have the ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment. Student will be expected to go full-time during school breaks.
Responsibilities- Animal Husbandry
- Veterinary care
- Pasture rotations
- Assisting with research projects
- Weed control
- Fence building
- General ranch maintenance
- Candidates must be students of the University of Nevada, Reno and must maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must demonstrate leadership and strong work ethic. Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
- Candidates with experience in the agricultural sector are encouraged to apply.
Schedule:
20 hours/weekly
Compensation Grade:
Student Employee, Level 1 $ 14.00/per hour
The Experiment Station is the research unit of the University's College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources. It maintains a network of field stations throughout the state, providing researchers different environments where they can experiment on a larger scale while supporting the needs of the nearby communities.
